I’ll start by saying that I am a huge fan of gaming. However, a few years ago, the only gaming rig I had was an old PC that could only run PS2/Xbox caliber games. It sufficed for the time, but in 2009, when Grand Theft Auto IV came out – that’s when I knew I had to invest in new hardware. So my choices at the time were the Xbox 360 Arcade for $199, the Xbox 360 Elite for $299, and finally the PlayStation 3 for $399.
As a college student with a minimum wage job at the time, I had to go for the cheapest rig I can buy at the time – which ended up the Xbox 360 arcade. It was one of the most fun investments I had made. Not only did I love playing GTA on it, but my roommate at the time also introduced me to Halo multiplayer, which I am a fan of till this day!
But if you are into gaming like me, you’ll know that the PS3 has gone down in price since then, and there have been a huge lineup of exclusives that have been coming to the console that made the PS3 a lucrative choice for many gamers. Well, if you’re like me until recently, and you still haven’t gotten to getting the PS3, this is a great time to obtain a great value out of purchasing it.
My eyes are on the Classic White PS3 Instant Game Collection Bundle. This is the one to get. Priced at $299 (in the US), the bundle consists first of a white PS3 system. We’ve seen a white console on the shelves of other regions like Japan and Europe, but this is the first time it has come to North America. Besides the white console, the bundle packs in a matching white DualShock 3 controller.
Lastly, but most importantly, the bundle also adds a full year to PlayStation Plus, a $50 dollar value. This Playstation Plus deal is the reason this bundle stands out among the rest and offers the best value for your money. This is why you need to get this if you’re getting this system now. You can read about all the features and benefits of Playstation Plus here.
I have now around 15 games on my console that I have access to that I haven’t had to pay for, as long as I have Playstation Plus. Moreover, in the next generation of gaming, the Playstation 4 will require Playstation Plus to game online, as Xbox live requires now. So, if you purchase this bundle, you’ll be set for the whole coming year, plus for the first six months of owning a Playstation 4 if you plan to get one when it launches later this fall.
So those are some of the reasons I think you can’t beat this bundle. You will want to look for this bundle at your local retailers, as I found that this bundle is getting harder to find online. What are your thoughts? Do you use Playstation Plus already? Are you a fan of other bundles that are out? Let us hear your voice in the comments below!
