Privacy Policy

Goopply is an independent group blog edited by Matt Evans. We collect as little as we can: only what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical data any website needs to run. We don't sell personal information and we don't run ad networks.

What we collect

When you fill in a form on Goopply (the Sunday letter signup, a pitch, a sponsorship request or a contact message) we store what you type, such as your name, email address and message, along with the time it was sent. Like every website, our hosting provider also handles technical data such as your IP address and browser type when you load a page, to deliver it and keep the site secure.

How we use it

We use form submissions only to do what you asked: send you the Sunday letter, reply to your pitch, follow up on a sponsorship request, or answer your message. We keep them for as long as we need them for that, and delete them when you ask us to.

Cookies and analytics

Reading Goopply doesn't set any cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so it sticks between pages; it never leaves your device. Writers and editors who sign in to manage the site get a sign in cookie. Pages are served by Cloudflare, and fonts load from Google Fonts, which both receive the standard technical data needed to deliver files to your browser. We don't use advertising or cross site tracking tools.

The Sunday letter

If you subscribe, we store your email address to send you one email a week with new posts. Every letter includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. If we move the letter to a newsletter service, we'll name it here.

Sponsors

Each week's sponsor gets a message on the site and in the Sunday letter. We never share reader information with sponsors. Sponsor links are ordinary links; we don't add tracking to them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send us a message through the contact form and we'll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Bigger changes will also be mentioned in the Sunday letter.
